George Dawson, III (age 22) affectionately known as "Gee," started taking piano and voice lessons at the age of five. He is a Class of 2003 graduate of the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C. His major was Voice, but he also performed and toured with the Duke Ellington Show Choir and Concert Choir, advancing his skills in Drama and Dance. He spent a year at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA., and decided to pursue music as a career. He is performing at many venues in the Washington, D.C. area.

Growing up in church, Gee has sung with the Junior and Young Adult Choirs. He was also a part of the family singing group "The Dawsons," in which George was a key player in the writing, arranging and producing of their Gospel CD as well as the Gospel video that was shown on local T.V.

Gee has over the years been in and out of many recording studios in the Washington D.C. area. The last eight years he has been recording out of his family's recording studio. He has recorded over 100 songs in the studio.

Gee is employed as a music teacher at Roots Charter School in Washington, D.C., and is presently teaching Music Appreciation at the Lamond Recreation Center’s summer camp.

Gee is in charge of the Production Workshop at the Dawson Youth Community Workshop, working with some of the most talented artists in Washington D.C. He is writing, arranging, producing and recording music for them.

Gee has just released his latest CD titled: G Major: 1 Sharp No Flats, and is on a promotional tour to promote his CD.
