George Dawson, III (age 24) affectionately known as "Gee," started taking piano and voice lessons at the age of five. He is a Class of 2003 graduate of the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C. His major was Voice, but he also performed and toured with the Duke Ellington Show Choir and Concert Choir, advancing his skills in Drama and Dance. He spent a year at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA., and decided to pursue music as a career.

Growing up in church, Gee has sung with the Junior and Young Adult Choirs. He was also a part of the family singing group "The Dawson’s," in which George was the key writer, arranger, and producer of their Gospel CD as well as the Gospel video that was shown on local T.V.

Over the years, Gee has been in and out of many recording studios in the Washington DC area until he decided to have his own studio built. He has been working out of his studio over the past eight years and has recorded hundreds of songs there. Gee has been performing his material and been featured in performances all over.

Gee is in charge of the Production Workshop at the Dawson Youth Community Workshop, working with some of the most talented artists in Washington D.C. He is writing, arranging, producing and recording music for them.

Gee released his first solo CD G Major: 1 Sharp No Flats, in 2007 and has since been on a promotional tour to promote that CD. He is currently working on his sophomore solo CD which is slated to be released in 2010, and has been lending his voice out to be featured on tracks all over the area.
